Is 70-583 (Pro: Designing and Developing Windows Azure Applications) still worth?

Question

I saw that 70-583 will be retired in July 2014. In that case, is it still worth to get certified for 70-583. If this is being retired, then does that mean that Microsoft will be coming up with a more relevant/latest certification for azure?Sunday, February 9, 2014 4:57 AM

The 70-583 is the "PRO" exam that deals with designing Windows Azure applications, as compared with the "TS" exams that deal with the technology (how to write the code). It was a requirement for the MCPD certification, which is now being retired (and was based on Visual Studio 2010).
In contrast, the new MCSD certication does not include such a "design" exam. Instead, the new Azure exam is 70-487 "Developing Windows Azure and Web Services", which is mostly about technology although it does cover some design topics. This exam is in the path for obtaining the "MCSD: Web Applications" certification, and it is (currently) based on Visual Studio 2012.

Hi,
As far as i know there are no plans for any additional Azure exams or a direct replacement for 70-583.
Most resources are for development on Azure as Alberto already explained.
You can track all MS learning news on http://borntolearn.mslearn.net/, keep looking there to see if new exams or resources are announced for Azure.

Hi Danny,
Thanks for your reply. I am more interested in learning the design aspects (how it works) of Azure. Do you know if there will be any certification coming up in this area as a replacement for 70-583?
