verification fails because of Ghost version of Microsoft Office 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • My Office verification is being rejected because the Genuine Advantage validation software finds a version of Office that does not appear in "Add or Remove Programs."

The system verifies Microsoft Vista, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, and Microsoft Outlook 2007.

However, it claims there is another version of Office 2007 on the computer. I believe this may be a remnant from a trial copy of Office that came installed on my Toshiba laptop and which I tried and failed to initialize.

The Genuine Advantage diagnostics indicate no problems with the ActiveX installation.

Can you give me advice on how to move forward?
