WHS on Fujitsu Siemens PRIMERGY TX150 S6 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I would like to know if it is possible to install WHS on the Fujitsu Siemens PRIMERGY TX150 S6 server.

The reason for this is, that i would like to use it like the hp mediasmart server but I also need to install a pci card from geovision for video surveillance.

    Thanks, Søren

  • Hi Søren,

welcome to the Windows Home Server forums.

You should be able to install to that server, since it has Windows Server 2003 drivers available, if it has a DVD drive and a large enough boot harddisk (65 GByte absolute minimum).

The video surveillance card may be a different issue - without Windows 2003 drivers (I am not sure, if they are available for that card) you could be out of luck.

If the card and the related applications work and you need to record the results I recommend a harddisk for recording, which is not part of the WHS storage pool.

  • Yes, it is possible.

It should only not be connected, while you install the server.

Disks, which you attach later can be

    • integrated to storage pool
    • used for backing up the content of the WHS shares
    • used for other applications and services.

  • Thanks Olaf

According to geovisions homepage the card should work under Windows Server 2003.

Sow I guess it would work then.

  • So it's possible to install a harddisk in the server, that is not part of WHS?

Sorry I'm a novice in servers
