Hi All,

Good Day,

i really need some help.. my laptop had win 7 ultimate original installed. After i installed YAC (Yet another cleaner), to get rid of malware and adware, it got rid of my device instead..it corrupted the OS.

i had to clean install win 7 using a pirated copy..i got this laptop of a friend who has since lost the CD containing the original product key...

Now, win 7 says that i have 211 updates to be installed.. i read in the internet that if KB971033 is not installed...my copy of Win 7 would stay activated.. but the problem is that i am not able to find the KB....i scoured all the updates thrice..

has KB971033 been renamed ?

can i go ahead and install the 1st batch of updates?

i do not want to get the windows not genuine error....please advice

i have installed a 32bit WIN 7 Ultimate

KB971033 is where it's always been - what makes you think it's some kind of magic bullet?

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.

To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.x

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

i cannot find "KB971033"..... in the entire update list..it is not there..

ill run the MGADiag tool and post findings

The installation is counterfeit.

YOu have a Product Key from a Hewlett Packard machine, installed on a Hewlett PAckard built almost a year before WIndows 7 was released.

The apparent SLIC table is from an ACER machine.

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.
