  • We support the Sitemap protocol as a joint industry standard.   You can read about it at www.sitmap.org.

  • The websitemap.xml isnt for the Sitemap protocol.  And I wouldnt expect Live to use that as another method to the already agreed upon Sitemap protocol.  What should happen, is the VS team release some sort of update or addon that will allow you to use the same kind of idea but instead ise it to meet the protocol.

  • The add on should be available even for the express edition of VS?

  • Thanks for jaydee777 reminded me ASP.net could  make the sitemap. I see this is the most convenient way for me. Does anyone know if the sitemap done by ASP.net is supported in Google search.

  • unfortunatly not. It would have been cool if MS did make the sitemap useful in both ways. It would have make sense. Sometime I don't understand MS way of doing things.

  • Yes It seems the structure of ASP.net's Sitemap XML is not designed for search engines. I did it using a tool 'Endsheet' I found in http://www.tipue.com/. Very easy to use. In fact, I only need run once let me know the structure of the XML file.
