Cannot Install Connect Software - Log says "failed to save the windows logon user in registry"

Client machine is WinXP Pro SP3. Pretty much as soon as I click the Connect executable the following message appears:
"Connect a computer to the server
An unexpected error has occurred. To resolve this issue, contact the person responsible for your network."I am able to run the software on another WinXP Pro SP3 machine on the same network and administer the server without any trouble.

Any progress?
Check for spyware is one idea. The other is make sure time is synced with the server.

Hi! I have the same problem, but there are no log files, no entries in the events... I tried to rename the pc, the time is synced, the workgroup is the same... it´s just not working. Help please!
