Cannot Install Connect Software - Log says "failed to save the windows logon user in registry" RRS feed

  • Client machine is WinXP Pro SP3.  Pretty much as soon as I click the Connect executable the following message appears:

    "Connect a computer to the server
    An unexpected error has occurred.  To resolve this issue, contact the person responsible for your network."

    I am able to run the software on another WinXP Pro SP3 machine on the same network and administer the server without any trouble.

  • Any progress?

    Check for spyware is one idea.  The other is make sure time is synced with the server.

  • Hi! I have the same problem, but there are no log files, no entries in the events... I tried to rename the pc, the time is synced, the workgroup is the same... it´s just not working. Help please!
