Available space CRM 2011 online RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I have a problem with CRM 2011 ON LINE.

    The database has exceeded 80% of the available space.

    I deleted several entities (system processes, workflows, tasks, audit controls) but the available space is not improved.

    In the database are still present:

      - 1 workflow that generated 200 system jobs with a wait condition
      - 110.000 activities (40,000 emails have a pdf attachment from 100 k to 500 k)

    I tried to delete about 4000 email with attachment, but the space is increased of 5%.

    I have two questions:

    - The 200 processes with a wait condition are crucial?

    - The delete of the emails is useful?

    I don't know what elements to consider.

  • It's usually the attachments that consume the most space. 200 system jobs is nothing so I wouldn't worry about that.

    Being CRM Online it makes it hard to query SQL and see which tables are the biggest, but if you say 200,000 emails with 300KB~ attachments, that's approx 11GB just there. If you contact Microsoft they might be able to query SQL for you.

    If you have auditing enabled this could also be chewing up a lot of space. You can check that under Audit Logs in Settings.

    As far as I know, there is a 5GB limit by default for CRM 2011 online, however you can buy additional space. So maybe the question is actually how big your CRM online is and how much data you are expecting to have

    thanks for your  answers.

    I verified that total space in CRM online is 5 GB. But i don't understand the manage space.

    I deleted 4000 email with pdf attachment ( about 500 k for each email).  Now I should have, 2 gb available, but i have recovered only 250 mb.

    Before deleting the other email, I wanted to be sure of the recoverable space.

    Probably CRM 2011 online has a data compression system that I don't understand.

  • It would be a good idea to back up the records before deletion. Also look for completed system jobs.

    I deleted several completed system jobs. At the moment remain about 500 jobs in the system.
    I also verified the audit logs but are not decisive.

    Remain the emails, but the recovered space doesn't match with the space occupied by the deleted emails.
