Onecare fails to update viruses/reinstall software - Vista

One of our pcs (out of 3) will not update Onecare virus data and I have now tried to reinstall which also fails - 'problem with connection to service' error. Windows Defender is installed but set to 'off'. The other 2 pcs including the 'hub' all work fine. I have seen a similar user problem on another forum but no answer provided. Tried some of the 'support' suggestons but no use. Anyone help?

On the computer where One care will not install run the install cleanup tool - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/399071e2-49dc-4767-932d-d261e3965943 then install the One Care trial - http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/install/install.htm To activate, open One Care, select "Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Live ID and password associated with your subscription and One Care will activate.
