Cleaning disks failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hiya
This home file server thing started last week with me trying out OpenSolaris. After mucking about with that for a bit I wasn't all that satisfied and decided to try WHS. I had already had a trial version.
Well I can't seem to install the bloody thing!!!!

I had the 2 500GB drives formated for solaris and I don't think that WHS knows what to do with them. I downloaded a bootable cdrom from bootdisk.com and fdiskd the drive.

Then I attempted to install windows home server and get a screen that states; "cleaning the disk failed: the device is not ready"

I am using 2 500gb EIDE drives using CS for master/slave configuration. The primary is master on IDE 1 and the secondary is slave on IDE 2.

BIOS sees the drive but I'm lost on how to get this thing installed?!?!?!?
