Changing user password RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I did know how to change the administrator password but I was searching on how to change the users password.

I found an easy way. If I do a Remote Desktop to the server and go to: "Server Manager", I found the user that I want to change the password in "Local Users and Group\Users" and then I selected the checkbox "User must change password at next logon". Voila!

  • A user can change their password through the remote access web site; right now that's the only way. Elsewhere, Microsoft has indicated that a user will also be able to change their password without using the remote access web site (I would presume through the Launchpad), and there will be a way for someone with the administrator password to change a user's password for them. So there should be no need for logging in to the server's desktop and that you need to do so today is, technically, a bug.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
