  • In the info box, I select text to delete but delete is grayed-out; only choice is copy.  Why?

  • Is this Streets&Trips? MapPoint?

How was the pushpin created? If it was imported using one of the Data Import Wizards, then this is read-only. You can only interactively change the text (title, note) of manually-placed pushpins.

  • I'm using Streets & Trips 2010.
The pushpin info is in the box that comes up when clicking on a location on the map, like a restaurant or hotel.  It is program generated, not by me.  I understand I can edit what I've created within the pushpin box, but there's more info in the program generated box than what I need or want; it just takes up too much real estate.  If I'm navigating [like using a GPS] I only really need the pushpin title, and maybe the street address, but the city, ZIP, and telephone number are not needed to get to the location.

  • Okay, those are not pushpins - or not in S&T / MapPoint terminology. But "POIs" (Places of Interest) or just "Places". The reason you can't delete the information is, as you say because they are built in to the MapPoint database.

As for hiding, all you have is a simple show/hide.

  • Appreciate the prompt reply, thanks.

Maybe sometime there would be a way to select FULL information from a POI, or just the title.  Of course, the "place" is identified on the map if you cursor it, but that doesn't let you mark it as an end point or a stop.

    Again, thanks.
