OK, I've done that and here is a copy of the new MGADiag report.   What I don't understand is, given the fact that I bought this computer brand new from a major retail chain, how it is having a problem in the first place?  I've always thought that the purchase of the computer included the license.... and the "default" key you reference is the key that is printed on the sticker on the computer.  What else would I use?  and where to find it?

Thank you, by the way, for your VERY quick response.  It is much appreciated! As is your continued assistance....  :)

    Thanks,

    Susan

If the Key in the report is actually printed on the COA sticker, then the COA and  your installation are both counterfeit!

What are the last 5 characters of the Key on your COA sticker? what does the COA sticker look like (look here for an example - http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/howtotell/Hardware.aspx#PCPurchase)

At least now the system is responding properly to the Key.

    Your installation is non-genuine.
The Key in use is the Default Key m- which CANNOT be activated - and yet your system says that it has been activated. This is because someone has used a hacker's tool to break Activation and validation requirements - which is what has caused the File Mismatches highlighted above.
Search your computer for a file named RemoveWAT.exe  - run that file, and then click on the 'RestoreWAT' function - reboot on request.
Then post a new MGADiag report.

If you cannot find the RemoveWAT file,
NOTE that it may trigger a virus alert, but that the file is safe.
Extract the download to your desktop, then run the extracted file.
Once complete, run another MGADiag report.
