Transfering Ownership of W7 to Another Person? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I own a copy of W7 home premium, which is not installed on any computer, whatsoever. Therefore, I would like to have my Thai Fiancée install it on her home computer in Bangkok; can this be done, without MS going ballistic? And, if so, how in the heck does one contact Microsoft, for free, to transfer the license, or whatever needs to be done?

  • All you have to do is send the complete Windows 7 package to her and let her install and activate it...simple!

  • You do not contact Microsoft yourself.  The computer does that when the user activates Windows.  Follow Carey's instruction.
