  • how do you reinstall windows xp home on the same computer? it is only my second time.

  • Hello,

    You have posted in the wrong forum, please try the windows XP forum next time :-)

    I will ansewer your question and maybe stephen will be kind enough to move this to the right area.



    To reinstall windows, Backup up all your files to CD, DVD or another HDD.
    You can use NT Backup to do a backup of your whole HDD to be safe.

    Your windows XP cd is bootable. place the cd in your cd tray and reboot your computer. if the CD dose not boot you will need to check BIOS and enusre the the CD drive is before the HDD in the boot up order.

    after your XP CD boots, follow the prompts to reformat C: and install windows.
