You appear to be using a Toshiba Equium machine - but your installation of Windows has an Acer SLIC tableFor what version and edition of Windows is your PC licensed, according to the COA sticker on the case?Your installation of Office is also likely to be non-genuine, since it's a Volume License only version - unless you acquired this copy through your employer, it's almost certainly a counterfeit.

Having SAME problem. Vista Home Premium SP2 installed approx 2 months ago from media supplied by Microsoft (since my HP PC did not come with media) Vista was already installed(yuk) when I purchased it approx. 3 years ago, it was so screwed up I had to do a complete re-install. If it's not genuine, then there's a major scandal here. Suddenly I get messages saying "This copy of Windows is not genuine". As an added feature, my desktop background goes black. Nice, got my attention. MGA Diagnostics report follows. So, what to do?

fine, I will repost, however the similarity suggests a problem with the code, rather than a user issue that simply gets a "workaround".Friday, July 22, 2011 2:15 PM

No, the issue is that the Original Poster's computer is a Toshiba but some how has an part of an Acer Bios installed.
Your computer is an HP, and does not have part of an Acer bios installed. So even though the error code may be the same, the cause of the error is not the same and will likely need a diffrent fix then the Original Poster's problem.
In addition, I do not know what "workaround" you are referring to. We have not yet given the Original Poster a firm fix for his issue yet because we have asked for addition information that he has not yet provided.
