Google Scholar - Faster and Better RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been struggling to get my profile on academic.research.microsoft correct for about a month now.  This morning I received an invitation from Google Scholar to create and update my profile.  After about 5 minutes I was able to have a complete and accurate profile including all of my papers which I self verified.  The citation count, display, and citation accuracy is far superior to Microsoft's.  Even if Microsoft eventually gets my profile correct...someday... I don't think I will ever link to it, since it takes forever to make any changes, updates, modifications, or corrections.

  • So finally all of my papers are showing up in my profile (http://academic.research.microsoft.com/Author/8690120)  but the rest of the data is terribly inaccurate.  The charts on the page are off by 1.    The number of citations is listed as 25 but the graph shows 24 and the number of citing authors is 82.  The actual number of citations is in the hundreds.  The number of publications is 11, but the graph shows 10.     The number of co-authors is incorrect.  The co-author view has many errors: duplicate authors, incorrect spelling, completely wrong authors, people's names beginning with the word "and" concatenated to their first names, and institutions listed as co-authors.

I am not sure how useful any of this is going to be considering the manual effort used to support the site and the amount of incorrect information.

If anyone is viewing my profile here, please go to Google Scholar for the correct information (http://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=8yApVtMAAAAJ)
