Office XP Validation Problem - Office Status: 114 Blocked VLK 2 RRS feed

  • Office XP 2003. Validation problem

    I have a genuine Office XP version which I have been using successfully on my personal computer for a number of years. Recently a balloon message has stated my system is NOT valid. Using the validation process produced the diagnostic report below. The key message in it seems to be:

    Can you please explain this problem and suggest a solution.

    Thank you for visiting the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program forum. I understand the inconvenience you are currently experiencing. We have seen numerous issues from customers who were provided a Volume License Key (VLK) on their computer that has either been blocked by Microsoft or generated by a fake product key code generator. WGA currently provides checks for these types of product keys and prompts the user to notify them of this situation. More invalid product keys are being identified daily and WGA is constantly refreshing its database with these newly identified product keys and immediately blocks them. 

    Right now, your computer has a Volume License (VL) edition of Office XP Professional with FrontPage identified. Below is an extract taken from the MGA Diagnostic results you provided to us:

    As a rule, VL editions should not be sold to individual consumers. Businesses, schools and governments normally use VL editions for flexibility in installing many computers Also, Volume Licenses for Windows XP is Upgrade licenses ONLY and cannot be used as the original or base license for a new computer.  Clausurch if this is a corporate system please ask your systems administrator to logon to the eOpen site (https://eopen.microsoft.com/EN/default.asp) and confirm what your company’s assigned VLK. If this computer is not a corporate system please uninstall Office Professional Edition 2003. Next please restart your computer and try to Validate once again.

    Office XP and Office 2003 are two distinctly different editions of Microsoft Office.  Office 2003 superceded Office XP.

    Currently your mgadiag report is showing the following:

    This is telling us that the installed copy of Office 2003 in nongenuine due to installation with a Blocked Volume Licensing Key.  It is also telling us that FrontPage 2003, Project Pro 2003, and Visio Pro 2003 are Genuine installations, meaning they are not creating any problems and can stay on the computer indefinitely.

    The solution would be to uninstall the nonegnuine installation of Office 2003, and to purchase a genuine copy of the edition of Office that meets your needs, either the 2003 version or the current 2007 version.
