  • You have asked in the wrong forum. This forum is for questions and discussions about the TechNet Wiki.

Assuming this is about the Windows 10 Insider feedback hub, I would ask here:

How dare you mark your post as THE ANSWER to my query - it is up to MYSELF as the originator of the query as to whether or not to mark your response as THE ANSWER !!

  • As the person that asked the question, you can always unmark any reply, either as the answer or a proposed answer. The preferred outcome is always for the OP (original poster) to mark answers.

The problem is that often the OP never returns (even when they reply that the question was answered). In that case moderators will mark the response they believe is the answer (after a time delay), to encourage others to help in the forums. There would be little incentive to participate if people got no credit for helping others.

I should also point out that marking a reply as a proposed answer is really just a suggestion, or vote that the person agrees that the post is an answer. It is intended to prompt the OP to mark an answer. No points are awarded and no one gets credit for a reply marked as a proposed answer.

I would point out that the reply you marked as answer is not the answer to any question.

No one either proposed their own response as an answer nor marked their response as an answer.
