Help connecting to the Internet after downloading IE from OneCare's critical updates RRS feed

  • Help!  Last night I opened Onecare and saw I had 3 critical updates from Microsoft.  One being internet explorer.  I downloaded the updates and then today when I logged on, it began to install Internet Explorer, then I got an error message about DNS memory (if I remember correctly).  Now I can't connect to the internet at all on my home computer.  The only way I can is to log in via my husband's remote LAN.  I've tried system restores, I've scanned for viruses, I've checked the computer's memory.  I don't know what else to do and Explorer won't open at all now.
