Project Server 2013 - Project Online question RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've been reading about the new Project Server 2013 features and I've a question.

Is it mandatory for Sharepoint 2013 + Project Server 2013 to use the Project Online features or could we use the product without internet access (like in 2010)? (Believe it or not, there are high security environments where internet acces is not an option).

    Thank you for your time.

  • Hi Mario--

For any question related to Online project :

Project Server 2013 can work like Project server 2010 on-premises installation. You have flexibility of using Project server 2013 on cloud.online. Please see below documentation of PS2013 about the general architecture.

    Hope this helps.

  • Dear Amit,

kindly suggest,  if I have to implement Project server 2013 on-premise (without using cloud services), does same amount of H/w and S/w would be required as that of project server 2010?

  • Hi Gaurav,

For project server 2013, Please see the below hardware & software requirements.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee683978(v=office.15).aspx

The common software components are SQL server 2008 R2 & Windows server 2008.

You may need to re-visit the Hardware based on the Small/Medium/Large dataset.

You will also need to have the MS Project professional 2013 to use with MS project server 2013 preview.

    Hope that help.
