Entity attribute matching RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I wonder if anyone knows of any MS CRM addins or best practice that will acheive the following;

    1. I am putting together a system for an educational body who want to match apprentices that they have trained to job opportunities coming in from companies. So in one entity (based on contact) I will have the apprentice details and in the vacancy entity I will have the job specification and requirements. I would like to enter the vacancy and then hit a search button that would return the best matched apprentices based on attribute matching in a list sorted by best percentage match.

    I look forward to hearing from anybody?

    Best regards

    Shaun

  • Hi Shaun,

    I haven't come across an add-on that does what you are looking for. To build a custom solution this is what I would recommend.

    You will need to make sure that the entity that holds an apprentice's qualifications and an entity that holds the job opportunities qualifications, store data in similar format. e.g. Educational qualification, Technical qualifications etc...

    To do a manual search you could use the advanced find feature in MS CRM. The function allows you do a fuzzy match using criteria such as "Contains", "Begins With" and "Ends With".

    You could also develop a custom screen that lets the user select a job opportunity and searches the data base for all appetencies with matching qualifications. (in implementation terms you'll need to look at the required qualifications for the opportunities and then search all apprentices that have matching qualificaitons.)

    Let me know if you have further questions or if require further assistance.

    Hassan.
