Unactivatable Windows RRS feed

  • Question

  • I get all the regularly reported problems with activating Windows.   I probably brought this on myself because I wasn't

planning on having this machine on the internet.  I'm down to one program that I need windows to run.

  • The installed Product Key is a KMS Volume License one - and requires activation at private company servers.

If this is not a company machine - where did you get this license Key from? Such Keys cannot be sold, and are invalid away from the company environment.

The machine appears not to have shipped with Windows pre-installed - or with Windows XP installed.

Is there a COA sticker on the case? If so, for what version and edition of Windows is it valid?

  • You will need to replace the Volume License version of Windows 7 Professional with a conventional consumer Windows 7 Professional license which you can purchase here.
