green screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • changing the video accelleration in wmp to even half enabled wmp to play.but the option to go to full screen is disabled.other players i use still have the green screen so has anyone uninstalled wmp 11 and gone back to Classic wmp yet .i will after this post.but the problem is definitely related to windows updates because as i have said previously after a complete reinstall of windows xp and then downloading the service packs the green screen was immediatly present in wmp.are any of you windows techies readind this stuff or are we left out in the cold like any customer after buying a product!

  • I am trying to figure out what to do myself... I did just install wmp11.  I  have audio, but the screen is green!  I am not very computer literate... So, ya, certainly hope  we won't be left out in the cold for too long...

  • I have had this problem for a long time, changed video card (because I thought it might be too slow).  Put 1.5Gig of RAM in for same reason.  Still experiencing same problem even with some videos that previously worked under Windows Media Player 9 and 10.

  • unfortunately so far the only way to get wmp11 to work is to go into TOOLS-OPTIONS-PERFORMANCE-and reduce your Video accelleration and play with the settings i reduced them to half and that got things going.i got that info from a previous post .my only issue is that Microsoft  i believe have made it so that we /i cant use other players which continue to get the green screen and i have definetly had zero feedback from them i am definetly go to LINUX Microsoft can get stuffed.
