Data from Azure + SQL Webform isn't being added to SQL Server Management Studio Database RRS feed

  • Question

  • Description

So I have a piece of code that is designed to add data from a webform to an SQL database on Microsoft SQL Server Management (SSMS) Studio. That data isn't being added to the SSMS Database.

I have coded everything to the exact instruction as the training video below.

What I want to know is why does it work in the training video but not for me?

    </html>

    What I’ve tried

A number of alterations to the code from suggestions from people on here.

Inserted an Exception - Throw command which resulted in the Debug/Diagnostic Message below.

    Debug/Diagnostic Messages

    Exception thrown: 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException' in System.Data.dll
The thread 0x3c10 has exited with code 0 (0x0).
    Exception thrown: 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException' in bluecitywebapplication.dll
An exception of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException' occurred in bluecitywebapplication.dll but was not handled in user code
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No such host is known.)
The program '[14816] iisexpress.exe' has exited with code -1 (0xffffffff).

    Additional Information

I'm thinking it's to do with the connection key provided by the Azure Portal but fail see how it works in the video but not for me.

Please dont make any suggestions to change the code, the code is the correct code as evidenced in the training video. I want to know what is different about my hardware/software thats making it behave like an idiot.

    Thanks

  • Hi Todd Gilbey,

    Thank you for posting here.

Since your question is more related to Web Form, you could post a new thread in Web Forum.

    https://forums.asp.net/18.aspx/1?Web+Forms

The Visual C# forum discuss and ask questions about the C# programming language, IDE, libraries, samples, and tools.

    Best Regards,

    Wendy
