  • I am a teenager and i am learning now c# as Microsoft has removed certification for Visual C++.
    I have been searching for days on the Microsoft website and the net of certificates to find the corresponding certificate just to proof   that
    i know the language and f. e. go for a summer job and what press must i buy in addition to my O'reilly books
    i'm now fully confused what should i focus on

    can anyone help me straighten all out?

    by the way what is ASP.NET?

  • I am not sure if a teenager can understand this material because even adults gets confused, I have covered the .NET 3.5 exams in the thread below and there are seven exams for .Net 2.0, one exam 70-536 is requred and you can choose the others base on what platform you use for development, Asp.net, WPF(Windows presentation foundation), WCF(Windows Communication foundation), WWF(Windows Workflow foundation) and ADO.NET.


    There are many C# tutorials including videos in the link below.


    You can use you school ID to get free software in the link below.


    Asp.net is Microsoft web development platform, that is we Asp.net developers develop only web based application. Check below for lots of tutorials for Asp.net.


    This should get you started.

    maybe i wrote a bit incorrectly
    i know c++ quite good
    i started learning visual c++ when Microsoft supported certification
    now (as Microsoft removed them) i need to switch to c#

  • That makes it easy so check the thread below the two books I am recommending are written by people who still writes VC++ books because both are C based languages expert.  These two books with good practice test will help you pass the required exam which is 70-536 and since you don't know Asp.net then you must also pass exam 70-526 for the Winform MCTS certification.   I have not taken that exam because I am Asp.net developer.
