Error code 0xC004F063

Question
-
Hello,
As I enter my product key, it won't recognise it and keeps giving me the same error code - 0xC004F063. It reports that the software licensing service reported that the computer BIOS is missing a required license. I bought my ASUS computer new, but I have had problems with it and it has gone back to the shop a couple of times.
This is really getting to me - I have vital information on the computer I need urgently and it will not let me access it, limited functionality only lets me get to a firefox browser and I am not online so this does nothing to help me.
Please help?
Ben

Hello mcben,
First off, lets get you access to your information stored on the computer. Using your Firefox browser, type into the address bar: c:\
You should now see the C:\ directory on your computer. From there you should be able to navigateto any directory on the computer.
As for the error " 0xC004F063. It reports that the software licensing service reported that the computer BIOS is missing a required license." It sounds like you maybe had a Motherboard replaiced?
Computers (sold by large companies like Dell, Asus, HP and others) that have Vista pre-installed are set up that Vista is tied to a license found in the Bios on the motherboard. If you have the motherboard changed out, the repacment must be the exact same motherboard as the old one and must be replaced by Asus. Any other motherboards would not have the correct Bios license and the Pre-installed version of Vista will not run.
Wheather the motherboard was changed out or not, vista is not able to see the motherboard's Bios license My suggestion would be to contact Asus support for further assistance.
Thank you,
Darin Smith

F*** this, never had problems with hacked activators. And I get the real thing on a laptop and it won't work. Screw Microsoft, f*** this sh!t, I am going to hack this b!tch. Seems to me it's the only way to get it to work. I know my BIOS version doesn't match, because it's refurbished laptop. Not going to waste my time phone the OEM.
