Required fields order of validation RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I have a number of required fields on a form.  They are logically placed on the form with some at the top of the form and others at the bottom.  I want the validation for these fields to fire in the order of top to bottom.  Is there a way to do that?  Right now, the validation for the fields at the bottom of the form fire first and it works its way up.  Any help will be appreciated.

  • Hi,

I don't know any way to change that, only change the fields to top.

One thing you can do is in create form put only one field as required, that field is the first field to be verified. After onchange event of that field add the required property to the second to be verified and repeat this process for the rest of the fields. If you need help with Javascript, put here.

    Hope this helps.

  • There isn't any option out of the box to change what order the fields get validated in. You could potentially make all the fields no required and create your own custom validation where the form saves and cancel the event if validation fails.
