Syncronisation of Text Messages & MMS's RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'd like to see Microsoft develop the native ability to sync text messages and multimedia messages between my windows mobile device and Outllook.  I'd also like to be able to compose both types of messages in Outlook on my PC and send them via my wondows mobile device.

A bit of colaboration possibly required here between the MS Office Team and Windows Mobile Team , however I believe there is a great need for this...

  • That would certainly be a welcome feature if your device ever died and you need your older messages

Add OTA SMS/MMS sync to Exchange as well ...please

Yes that would be great. Especially since I just upgraded my phone to the latest ROM and of course lost all of my text messages. I completely forgot to write down the information from the ones I needed before the upgrade. There is no place to go and see all of the messages I have received on a computer the same way I can a picture mail in my pic mail account or like going to see an email I received in my sprint pcs email account both I can access on my computer. But text messages nada once they are gone they are gone.

You might want to take a look at PimBackup

You know that is a nice tool. I already have a type of back up software. I never loaded it onto my Mogul after upgrading  from the PPC6700, but to be honest. Like I said I forgot all about backing up or copying down messages I wanted to keep before I upgraded the ROM. Not for nothing but this type of phone should already have a way to back up your text messages  incorporated into the OS. I am tired of buying software or finding some type of freeware to do some basic things that this phone should already be doing for its price point. Since it backs up contacts and notes and things like that already why not text messages too?

  • I've been using Jeyo's Mobile Extender for Outlook for around about a year now.  It works as well as Activesync/WMDC does for email, and Extender takes care of syncing your SMS in to Outlook while your connected via Activesync/WMDC.  Also you can write your SMS in Outlook, and it's sent via your mobile!

PS I don't work for Jeyo, it's just a great little add-in for Outlook!
