Vista -> Win7 ITPro Upgrade RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All!

I'm have both ITPro certification for Windows Vista client:

Exam 70-623: PRO: Microsoft Desktop Support, Consumer

Exam 70-622: PRO: Microsoft Desktop Support, Enterprise

Now i want to upgrade my knowlege to Windows 7. So by passing Exam 70-682: PRO: Upgrading to Windows 7 MCITP Enterprise Desktop Support Technician

i will upgrade only my second certification. But there is no direct upgrade from Exam 70-622 to Exam 70-686: PRO: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator

In prerequisites for this exam Exam 70-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring is specified

But in description for Exam 70-682 specified that candidates who pass this exam automatically confirmed their knowlenge on 70-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring

    So main question is:

Do i need to pass 70-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring or i can get both ITPro certifications for Windows 7 by passing:

Exam 70-682: PRO: Upgrading to Windows 7 MCITP Enterprise Desktop Support Technician

    and

Exam 70-686: PRO: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator

    MCSE 2003: Messaging, Security

MCITP: Server Administrator, Enterprise Administrator, Enterprise Desktop Support, Consumer Desktop Support

  • You do not need to pass 70-680 exam before 70-686.  If you take 70-682 exam to upgrade your certification to MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician Windows 7, you can take only 70-686 exam and it will provide you MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 certification.  because  70-682 exam help you to get these certificates:

     - MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician Windows 7

    - MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration

    You can check this link:

So, you are not required to pass 70-680 exam.

  • About Enterprise Desktop Support on Windows & it's correct, but main question, do i need to pass 70-680 (Win7, Configuring) before passing Exam 70-686: PRO: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Administrator, to get this ITPro status. Of course i'll take 70-682 before taking this exam
