    I definitely searched the forum for information about this issue, but did not find what I was looking for. If you know of the right resource, I apologize for the duplicate and please just link it to me.

    The box I am running WHS on is very old, it is an old P4 with 512mb of ram.

    With all the hardware specials I see at various websites, I'd really like to purchase new motherboard / processor / ram  for the server. How in the world do I go about doing this "upgrade" / "new computer install" so I do not lose any data I have spread across the 3 drives?

    I know I can't just unplug, install hardware, connect everything, and try to boot... so what is the right process?

    The real experts here need to confirm this, but if you connect your 3 disks to your new hardware and make sure the current systemdrive is connected to the first sataport, a server reinstall should work.

    In addition to what Bart has said, you should take a look at this FAQ for some additional guidance in the reinstallation/recovery process.
