Error when syncing a lot of files (2+ millions) RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using synctoy 2.1 64 bit and we have 3 servers to sync.  On 2 servers everything is fine we have 500k and 1.2 millions files.  On the third server, with 2 millions + files, we have this error:

    *** The Sync operation on folder pair xxxx failed: A storage engine operation failed with error code 25091 (HRESULT = 0x80004005, Source IID = {0FB15084-AF41-11CE-BD2B-204C4F4F5020}, Parameters=(0, 0, 0, , , , )).

  • Hi -

The error code is explained here -
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms171879(SQL.90).aspx

    25091

    SSCE_M_OUTOFLOCKS

The lock manager has run out of space for additional locks. This can be caused by large transactions, by large sort operations, or by operations where SQL Server Compact Edition creates temporary tables. You cannot increase the lock space.

The only way around this that I see is to partition the data into multiple folder pairs so that each folder pair is not sync'ing so many files.

    Thanks
