Morning Slarty,
Thank you for posting in the WGA Forums Slartyb2. Based on your MGA Diagnostic results you have a geographically blocked PID. A "Geographically blocked PID" is a Volume License Key that is valid, but was licensed solely to a corporation or larger enterprise/business. Blocked VLK's are Product Keys that Microsoft has received consent from the original owner to block usage of. A VL Product Key is non-transferrable to individuals. In order to resolve your non-genuine licensing issue, please visit: www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on "Validate Windows". When validation fails, click on the Get Genuine button which will provide information on how to acquire a WGA Kit.
Also I noticed Microsoft Office Professional was installed using a now blocked volume licensing key (VLK). Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/piracy and file a piracy report.
Thank you,
STephen

Slarty,
Curious where did you purchase the version of Windows currently installed? I would recommend for you to contact whomever sold you this software and explain what you have experienced. Also has your computer ever been turned in for any repair services and if so did part of the repairs include reformatting/installing Windows from scratch? If so did you take your software to them for use?
Thank you,
STephen

Hi Stephen,
I have had this copy of XP installed for over 3 years and have had no work done to the PC at all. I just don't understand why this would happen.
Cheers

Hello Lee,
Well VLKs are blocked by Microsoft at the request of the original product key holder for various reasons such as the product key was lost, stolen, compromised, misused, or expired. Also, MS may have blocked the key if it notices a pattern of misuse, i.e., more installations of Windows using that key than authorized. It could take time before the original product key holder notifies Microsoft because maybe the key hasn't been leaked beyond what their company has licensing for as yet.
Also in your situation your product key is a Geographically Blocked Key which is used for certain geographic areas. Lee do you remember where you purchased this copy of Windows from? If so I would definetly recommend for you to file a piracy report by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/piracy . Please follow all the steps outlined here and provide as much details as possible. Microsoft Piracy will investigate and provide you with feedback. Curious where did you purchase this copy of Windows from?
Take care Lee and again thank you.
Stephen
