Windows Home Server 2011 Connect & Launchpad not working after recent updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Had a whole host of updates in early July 2017 including .Net Framework 4.7 after which the server has lost the ability to view the PCs on the network, the Launchpad App no longer works on the PCs and all access levels on shared folders have been changed to No Access for all users.

Although we can still access the server (after changing the access levels back to read/write) shared folders via windows explorer by providing user name and password when requested by the server, the Launchpad will no longer accept the user name or password.

    No backups of client PCs

No access to the server via IE HTTP://#######/connect

Is anybody else having problems and are there any fixes or solutions

  • Hi,

According to your description, my understanding is that Windows 10 client failed to work with WHS 2011 after installing updates.

    >No access to the server via IE HTTP://#######/connect
On the client, open CMD and try to using Ping to check the connection, ping server IP address and server name, check to see if there is any difference of the results.

If you want to re-connect client to WHS 2011, please make sure that you had followed below steps to dis-connect client to server first:
    1. Removal of a computer from the server: Dashboard - Computers and Backup - right-click the computer and click Remove the computer
    2. Uninstall Connector software from computer: Control Panel – Programs- Uninstall a program - select Windows Home Server 2011 Connector, and then click Uninstall.
