Exporting Routes to Autoroute RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been asked to export planned routes from our Delivery Management System into AutoRoute 2013, so that the selected route can be displayed.

There is no planning requirement from AutoRoute whatsoever, just display.

Please advise where I can find the transfer file format if such a format exists.

    Thank you.

  • You can import your waypoints as pushpins from a file format such as CSV, Excel (xls) or database such as Access (mdb). This would not import the waypoint order though.

The only way around this would be to use Microsoft MapPoint (AutoRoute's business big brother - AutoRoute being more targeted to the consumer market). Then you can use add-in extensions such as our MPRouteWriter ( http://www.mproutewriter.com )

MPRouteWriter includes 'MPRouteReader' which creates a route from pushpins using one of the imported data fields to order the waypoints (eg. import a waypoint sequence number and use this to order the new waypoints).
