Installed, Erased CD Drive

I installed OneCare a moment ago. When I went to start it up, it would not. It said that I needed to restart the computer. I did so twice, and got the same message again each time. From there I uninstalled the program, intending to start over from scratch. Problem is, now my computer does not recognize that it has a CD-ROM drive any longer. It does not show up under "My Computer," and when you put a CD into the drive, nothing happens. Apparently the installation or uninstallation erased this information and these drivers from the computer.

Needless to say, I am not pleased in the least. What do I do now?

Doug Knox's script for this problem should restore your CD drive - http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_cd_dvd_fix.htm

You may need to enable some services.
