Hi Fritz,
Installation cannot detect .net framework because Windows 7 have .net 3.5 which is backward compatible with 2.0 which you need. Can try uninstallation .net 3.5 + installation 2.0 + installation ms crm outlook client and when it's working upgrade to .net 3.5 should be working.#
Other thing is outlook which need to be done 32bit (even MSCRM 4.0 Outlook client not support 64bit Outlook).
Summary - it may work (after few tricks) but definitelly will be causing a lot of problems.

I was able to install with no issues. It loads in Outlook with no issues. I can see accounts I can do most things. I had some issues promoting appotinments.

Hello,
I had the same problem installing CRM 3.0 and your solution has an installation successfully.
Thank you.
However, when you start Outlook, you can not load the component CRM. I have the two following error messages:
"Problem communicating with the Microsoft CRM server. The server may be unavailable.
Again later. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator. "
and
"An error occurred while downloading the Microsoft CRM functionality.
Try restarting Microsoft Outlook.
If the error persists, contact your system administrator. "
Can you help me?
Thank you for your help.
Good day.
