CRM Outlook plugin issue - causing outlook to misbehave

Question
-
Hi,
I am having a problem with Dynamics CRM 4.0 plugin for outlook with some of my users. When I enable the outlook plugin for these users, outlook memory usage shoots up, it doesnt shut down cleanly (I literally have to kill it), and most annoying of all the outlook screen flickers. When i disable the plugin, outlook behaves as normal. The only thing different about these users is their inboxes are bigger than other users. I looked at this knowledgebase article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916566, which is actually for CRM 3.0 and used the specified Method 2 (Disable the e-mail auto-tagging feature for all Microsoft Dynamics CRM users), still no difference. The backend is CRM-live and i have applied the latest updates to the CRM client for outlook. Running diagnostics on the client doesnt come up with anything either.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Vivek

If you're on the latest update version, I'd try setting these registry keys. This helped me...
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSCRMClient]
"DelayUIDuringAddinInit"=dword:00000001
"EnablePeriodicCollection"=dword:00000001

Since i am using Dynamics CRM online. I am assuming microsoft applies these patches to their servers as they come out. There doesnt seem to be an update for the Outlook plugin for CRM online. I did run the update from within the client itself and it downloaded KB978855, I also updated the registry. The issues still persist.Friday, May 7, 2010 6:35 PM

I'm using CRM Online and my PC doesn't have those keys at all. Should I add them?
Thanks,
Lon
