How Do I Delete a Backup Folder to Make Needed Hard Drive Space?

  How can I delete a backup folder?  Windows Live One Care has created three folders on my external hard drive that contain all of my backup data named 2008, 2008A and 2008B.  The problem is that those 3 folders have used 98% of the space on the hard drive (200GB).  I need to delete one of those folders in order to continue making backup files.  However, I have not been able to delete any of them.  The program prohibits it even though I an the sole administrator and user of my PC. 

   

  Any suggestions?
