CRM Plug in Display Statistics (TV) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I  am looking to display a number of stats from CRM on multiple televisions in all of our offices. The best way I have found so far is to create some sort of portal and use the browsers on the tv to access them for each room.

Due to the advances in technology I am sure there is a better way to do this with a plug in and some coding magic. I am going to be relying on the tv's browser which I am not too sure about but I am thinking it will be just as good as a chrome cast browser etc, I want to avoid putting PC's in each room just for the TV.

If there was a plug in to automatically send out results to a nice little page with a link that could be accessed through the browser that would be great anyways open to suggestions,

    Thanks in advance

  • I had to do something similar at a client site, but it required a PC and the TV became a large monitor.  If you are trying to access CRM via the out of the box CRM web site, compatibility with the TV's built in browser could be an issue.  CRM does support most modern browsers, but TV's are another story.

As far as I am aware, there are no plugins or coding magic out of the box to do this, sorry. :)

Your idea of a Portal is probably the best.  Setup a separate web site application that accesses the CRM web services and displays the data you want to show on the TV screens, and then just make sure that the TV's built in browser can display it properly.  Keep the site as simple as possible without a lot of fancy JS to ensure compatibility.

    Good luck!

  • Hi Chris,

Thanks for getting back to me! much appreciated

The CRM is being developed quite heavily with plenty of plug ins and custom code but I had an idea that someone somewhere may have developed something for this issue but after hours of researching I decided to post something about it,

I suppose the way to go would be to build the portal and see if it works on a tv browser, if not then I guess il have to resort to using a pc in each office,

Thanks for getting back to me :)
