MCSE: Core Infrastructure certification
Question
-
Hi everybody, Is this the only remaining Server MCSE certification?
It is still valid until the end of the year and since it's infrastructure I am going to try and complete the tests.
I am a little confused which classed you need to take. I have looked on the Microsoft site. Is it necessary to take these 3 specific tests to get the cert? 70-744, 70-745, 70-413 Or am I missing something?
Thanks!

Hi Leon,
Thanks for your answer.
There still are a total of four (4) Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certifications that have not yet been retired, they've been extended due to the COVID-19 situation.
What are the 3 besides Core Infrastructure?
And just to be clear, I need only take the 3 tests below for the MCSE?
- Exam 70-744: Securing Windows Server 2016
- Exam 70-745: Implementing a Software-Defined Datacenter
- Exam 70-413: Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure
Thanks, Jeffrey

Hello Jeffrey,
There still are a total of four (4) Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certifications that have not yet been retired, they've been extended due to the COVID-19 situation.
For Windows Server, the only left available is the MCSE: Core Infrastructure.
To obtain the MCSE: Core Infrastructure certification you need to complete three (3) exams, they are as follows:
- Exam 70-744: Securing Windows Server 2016
- Exam 70-745: Implementing a Software-Defined Datacenter
- Exam 70-413: Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure
This information you will be able to see at the bottom of the MCSE: Core Infrastructure page:
