Cannot access folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have set up a PC in my workplace that will be used mainly for accessing certain websites and using programs. I have one local user account set up using SteadyState. There are some Microsoft Word documents that I would like to give the user access to. I placed a folder on their desktop with these documents in.
However, when logged in as the user, access to the folder is denied - "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer". The only way I have managed to access the folder is by allowing access to the C:\ drive in SteadyState. This allows the user to access the folder but I do not want to use this method as I would prefer that the user does not hacve access to the hard drive.
Is there another way that I can grant access to this folder for the local user?

  • Hi revil, I'd like to inform you that this is by design. You can either:

    1. Store the documents under partition D or
    2. Enable WDP to protect the data on system drive and prevent any changes from standard user.

    Hope this helps!
