Unfollow an Activity Feed Post via workflow? [CRM 2011] RRS feed

  • Question

  • We can auto-follow posts (according to this). Is there a way to auto-unfollow?

  • Hi,

you can un-follow a record by deleting the "Follow" record that exists for a specific record (provided that this "Follow" record exists). Since there is no OOB functionality for deleting records in workflows, you would have to create your own custom workflow activity for this. You can have a look at this post.

  • Nevermind. I had to think about it from the other direction.

Instead of calling a child workflow on the Follow "entity" from the Case entity to delete the Follow, I did the following:

    • On Create of the Follow
    • Wait for the Regarding Case's status reason to equal "X"
    • then delete the Primary Entity (Follow)

  • What did you put in this part? I assume it's "follow" but the attribute name isn't explicitly on the form...

If deleting related entity, specify attribute name to get the related entity
