Great - that should save you some money, then :)
If you want to keep the current installation intact, you may be able to do a Repair install with an Upgrade license for Windows 7 Ultimate.
This should maintain current programs, settings and data - you'll just have to reinstall all the updates.
You will have to re-arm the license before beginning, as the repair may not start from a non-genuine state.
If you're not that fussed about the current install, pick your favoured edition of Windows and install an upgrade using a Clean Install procedure - you will have to back up to external media first. This could be a LOT cheaper than Ultimate, so work out the costs in time as well! For 95% of people Ultimate is for bragging rights, rather than need - generally you'd only need Home Premium at most, or Pro if you need access to Domain Networks. Many people would never notice if the only had Home Basic, as they don't even use the bells and whistles that Premium brings to the party :)
You should also point out to the organisation that they are guilty of counterfeiting, and ask what they intend to do about it - both for your machine, and for the others they've distributed.

Your computer (or at least the motherboard) was manufactured 3 years before Windows 7 was released.
The installation using a Dell OEM_SLP Key is non-genuine ( and probably counterfeit)
You should reformat and reinstall using the original manufacturer's Recovery media.

If you wish to maintain your current Windows 7 Ultimate installation, you'll need to purchase a genuine Windows 7 Ultimate license (full version) and then update the product key.

Is there a Windows COA sticker on the case of the machine?
If so, for what version and edition of Windows is it valid?
