  • Initial crawling can take awhile depending on your backlinks and the relative rank of those sites. You might try manually submitting your site to our crawler: http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx

I also strongly suggest reading our FAQs located at the top of the crawling and ranking forums.

  • Tends to be a bit slower then the other search engines for indexing pages... also, tends to be a bit easier to get a #1 ranking and keep it if the content is good... once you are on top, everyone else, you get to benefit from those still waiting to be indexed.

How long does it normally take?

Before christmas I set up Handyman Rochdale for my dad. It went live just before New Year. It now ranks on the first page of google and also top on yahoo but is nowhere to be seen on live. Do I need to submit a sitemap or anything?

He has started getting jobs from being on the first page of google so I am keen to do so with the other search engines. The terms are not that competitive, only being a handyman business in a small town, I don't think it should be so hard.
