Money 2005 updates UK

Question
-
I am in the same boat as a number of others. I have recently upgrade to windows 8 and re-installed my faithful Money 2005 only to find the updates are no longer available and I cannot open my data.
Can anybody help me find the updates

Use the appropriate download link in the first post listed in this forum. Run that file, and save a copy for later. You don't need your Money 2005 install disk for installs anymore.

Thanks for the quick response.
The patch file is no longer available at the link posted.
I did some trawling through the web and found the patch and lots of other Money patches.
I would have posted the link but the site wont allow me to
As the official Microsoft download is not available I took a chance on this and it worked.
Thanks anyway

The first UK link, "static link", worked for me when I tried it just now, but he "original link" one did not work when I just tried it.

Would it make sense to add checksum data to the sticky so that if someone does decide, or need, to get their Money file from the Internet they can at least confirm that it is the correct file and has not been wonked by malware or other baddies?
The other thing I was wondering about is the formatting of that post. I referred a neighbour to this forum to download the UK file and had considerable problems getting her to see which was the file she needed and why (talking over the phone). How about adding a bit of bold and a few blank lines?
Something like this?
Money 2005 UK - QFE2
Self-contained UK Money 2005 file including all available patches. Replaces all MS Money 2005 installation discs.
Download from:

Good suggestions. I had hopes that the original links would be fixed, and since the static links could change at any time, it seemed like a good idea to have both at least for a while.
What would make a good Title? How about "
"Microsoft Money Installation Files: Solves Activation and Some Other Errors"

The title you suggest seems good to me.
I suggest the following to help anyone who visits: (the link to the US Money 2004 trial needs editing to insert a static location.)
In this format the links can be edited if the file locations change without the post itself needing a rewrite.
Regional versions
Money data files are in a different format for each region. The correct regional version of Money must be used or the data file will not open.
It is possible to convert from one region to another only by exporting data as loose qif and importing to the new regional version of Money. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304254 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/178830 .
Old Money versions will run only under 32-bit Windows
Old versions (Money 2000 and earlier) include 16-bit code so can run only under 32-bit Windows (XP, Vista, 7 and 8).
There are continuing changes to the way Windows works. There is no certainty that newer 32-bit Windows will continue to run Money well or at all.
64-bit Windows
The latest available versions of Money, downloadable below, run under Windows versions up to Windows 8.
There are continuing changes to the way Windows works. There is no certainty that newer 64-bit Windows will continue to run Money well or at all.
Internet Explorer
Money depends on Internet Explorer for some features. Development of Money stopped some years ago, so some features in Money do not work well or at all with the latest versions of Internet Explorer.
Money version downloads
The latest versions are free for anyone to use, but are not supported by Microsoft. The download links below are maintained by this forum’s moderators and might become unusable at any time.
Keep a secure copy of the downloaded installation file for when you need to re-install. Your data will be inaccessible if you cannot reinstall Money.
This forum is the only support available.
English International Money 2005 International English QFE2
French Money 2005 French - QFE3
US Money Sunset DeLuxe Money Plus Deluxe Sunset
US Money Sunset Home and Business Money Plus Sunset Home and Business
US users of Money 2003 and earlier may need to convert to Money Plus Deluxe Sunset using the US Money 2004 trial. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919524/en-us .

Looks OK so far. A couple of suggestions. Put "English International" AFTER the downloads for UK and US. One of the problems I had with my neighbour in my post above was that she couldn't see the need for UK, US, and English "anything". reorder them like this and that problem might be simplified:
UK
US Money Sunset DeLuxe
US Money Sunset Home and Business
English International
Second, is it likely that the support pages that you are linking too will vanish in the same way as the download pages did? If so, I would suggest that the text of those pages should be copied into a sticky thread in this forum.
My only other suggestion would be to add checksums.

For now, I here are the checksums I have, in a csv-like format. I did not get the 2004 trial in time.

Thanks to you both. I have made some changes, and I will probably make more at some point.
The order I chose was US Money Sunset DeLuxe, US Money Sunset Home and Business , UK, English International, French. However I think I made the US versions look like a diffrent thing, so I think that will work.
I have gathered the MD5 and SHA-1 checksums for each file, and I expect to add those quickly if there is a glitch. For now it might just confuse some people. They are on this thread now.
Regarding notes about copying the referenced support files, I have saved one to disk, and I should probably do the other. With that also, I would probably wait until there was a problem.
Regarding the US Money 2004 trial, I was late on that one. However I did get the minimally functional US Money 2005 version that can be used the same way. I adjusted the sticky post.

Looks very nice. I don't have the US Money 2004 trial either. Annoying, I downloaded everything else.
You say that you would probably wait until there was a problem before saving the texts. Didn't the file links just stop working without much(any) warning? OK, you found the files again but if there is only a webpage and it goes missing it won't be anywhere (except on archive sites or Google).

I meant I planned to save some popular KB articles, but not post the content while the article was available. However we know the jist of the articles pretty much -- just not as nicely presented.

Just to be on the safe side I downloaded the file from your link and checked the checksum of it against the file I found on the web. Both were identical.
The link for the site which contains everything you need for all Money software is
http money.mvps.org
You will need to fill in the blanks

Hi.
I've upgraded yesterday from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and suddenly my Microsoft Money 2005 UK - QFE2 doesn't work. A dialogue box pops up saying "Money requires Internet Explorer 6 to function properly. Please reinstall Internet Explorer 6 so these components can be added". I've tried uninstalling the program and re-installing but unfortunately no success.
I have 15 years of data so obviously a little concerned.
Any suggestions warmly welcomed!!
Thanks.
