OneCare "Finish Setup" Problem RRS feed

    Though I have set up an ID and subscription online, and my ID and password work (I mean, I'm here, aren't I?), OneCare on my computer refuses to complete its setup. It states that I must log in with my ID and password, but when I use the same ID and password that work online, it stops and tells me that the ID and/or password are incorrect (!!). I have uninstalled and reinstalled OneCare; no change in this situation. So, I'm a "member" online, but I can't use the program at al! What's up?

  • If you are pasting the password, type it in.

    If your password is longer than 8 characters or contains characters other than letters and numbers, change the password to be simple - 8 or less letters and numbers only - at http://account.live.com and then activate. Change the password back after activation.
