Switching from Windows mobile to Windows phone development RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I  am having some doubts regarding Windows mobile and Windows phone application development. I did some applications for

windows mobile 5 using CF 2.0, C# and VS2008, and all works well for the targeted platforms.

I would like to know whether the Windows Phone devices supports application developed using the same (ie, CF 2.0, C#, and VS2008)?

Is there is something else (SDK, Frameworks, Technologies...) i need to learn for developing applications in windows phone?

Any emulator images or SDK available for Windows phones that can be incorporated with VS2008?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards

    Anish

Answers

  • Windows phone 7 thats only be incorporated with VS2010.

    Because.........

    • WP7 has different OS architecture
    • WP7 has ARMv7 Processor
    • WP7 does not support backword compartability
    • WP7 used Silverlight for application development
    • WP7 supports only managed code development
    • WP7 supports the XNA Framework.
    • Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone see

Here you can download WP7 SDK

    Hope it helps
