Live Mesh delets files RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Live Mesh has started to delete folders and files. I have Windows 7 ulitmate, 4 computers in my mesh. It delets complete folders and separate files. When i try to copy them back on computer from backup it delets them again. When I look in recycle bin I can find 35 copys of same empty folder.

  • Live Mesh should only be deleting folders or files if it is mirroring that action from another Device in the mesh. Can you further describe your Mesh environment? How many top level Mesh folders? Are they all synchronizing between all devices and the Live Desktop? Are the files/folders being deleted from all devices or only a single device? Are you using any other sync type software on the same folder(s) that you have in the Mesh?

  • Deleting files here also.

Source desktop set live mesh folder documents  D:\user\Documents.

¨Laptop for sync accepted the blue icon on desktop and browsed for destination to D:\user\Documents

Did remove the other documents folder so started fresh.

Did initially set it to not sync with live desktop, just between computers. But live desktop seems to set it to sync on file change even though its turned off.

When i started syncing source had 8739 files and 1086 folders. 2.12 GB

After a few hours it has 8538 files and 992 folders. 1.96 GB It has deleted .doc, word, bmp, htm files etc
