  • Someone marked my answer as "abusive", I'm assuming that this is because other people said it was correct and I nominated my own post as a potential answer? Is that a TOS rule? Seems a bit silly that you wouldn't be able to flag your own post as an answer to prompt the original author to pick an answer. Though I can see an argument for "Everyone would nominate their own reply" sort of thing.

    So I'm assuming that's a rule of something not to do, yes?

  • Of course it is not abusive, nor does it violate any rule, to propose you own reply as an answer. However, I would only do it after some delay (perhaps a few days) as a prompt to get someone (especially the op) to mark an answer. Best is when someone else proposes your reply as an answer, but that seems to seldom happen. And we always want the op to mark an answer.
