RE: Reloading Windows Live Onecare RRS feed

  • Question

  • I sent my laptop off to have a hardrive replaced under warranty. I bought Windows Live OneCare and install before the hardrive crashed. When got the laptop back I reloaded the software, now it wants me to pay for a subscription that I paid for when I bought the software. Windows Live Onecare software is only 2 months old. Any good ideas?

  • Hello Bill, all you have to do is activate One Care. To do this, open One Care, select "Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Live ID and password used to purchase One Care. Your subscription status will be recognized and One Care will activate.

  • The problem is more complex. The laptop was sent in  for a harddrive replacement. By the time I received it back I had forgotten my sign "ID" and my password. (I have the licence and registration key)  Now when I try to reload just the OCsetup it wants to update the software and then want my  forgotten info. I uninstalled the software and went by the step by step instruction with no success. If I can't this reloaded I'll take it back to Wal-Mart for a refund so "Help" me out. I have purchased numerous applications from Microsoft. Bill Hadfield
