    I sent my laptop off to have a hardrive replaced under warranty. I bought Windows Live OneCare and install before the hardrive crashed. When got the laptop back I reloaded the software, now it wants me to pay for a subscription that I paid for when I bought the software. Windows Live Onecare software is only 2 months old. Any good ideas?

    Hello Bill, all you have to do is activate One Care. To do this, open One Care, select "Subscribe" and when asked for a Live ID enter the Live ID and password used to purchase One Care. Your subscription status will be recognized and One Care will activate.

    The problem is more complex. The laptop was sent in  for a harddrive replacement. By the time I received it back I had forgotten my sign "ID" and my password. (I have the licence and registration key)  Now when I try to reload just the OCsetup it wants to update the software and then want my  forgotten info. I uninstalled the software and went by the step by step instruction with no success. If I can't this reloaded I'll take it back to Wal-Mart for a refund so "Help" me out. I have purchased numerous applications from Microsoft. Bill Hadfield
